HOW DO I MAKE A "CHESS.COM" ACCOUNT?
Go to chess.com website, and click sign up. The easier way to make an account is to sign up with Google, as shown at the bottom of this webpage.
I JUST LEARNED HOW TO PLAY CHESS/I HAVEN'T PLAYED IN YEARS. SHOULD I COMPETE?
Yes! Most people competing aren't good at chess, and are just here for a good time. The goal isn't to win, but just to have a good time playing chess with fellow BHS students.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
In the tournament, you will be playing chess games where both players have 10 minutes to play all their moves. This means that the maximum amount of time you will need to spend on the tournament on a given day is 20 minutes. Most times the games will end quicker, and you will only be playing for 5-10 minutes. The tournament will be longer or shorter depending on how many people will sign up. There will be no games on Christmas day/ Christmas eve.
